Alyce Chaucer : Fact & Fiction – 20th June

We are delighted to welcome Christina Hardyment to the library to speak about her trio of history mysteries inspired by Geoffrey Chaucer’s granddaughter Alyce Chaucer, Duchess of Suffolk. This year is the 550th anniversary of Alyce’s death and Christina will be joining us after participating in the Alyce Chaucer Festival in Ewelme (6-18th May), where Alyce lived in a moated palace and is buried in the church. Her talk for FOWL will be a more personal look at how she came to write her novels, stimulated by Alyce’s extraordinary life.
