We are pleased to confirm how the changes in government guidance are going to impact the library:
- From July 14th, the quarantining of books stopped – so no more red boxes! This means that the card reader machine in the library will now allow customers to return their books and place them on the adjoining shelves as per before lockdown – and reserved books have returned to their normal location by the desk
- From Saturday July 16th, opening hours are essentially back to normal; except for us we will swap Monday afternoon for Thursday morning. So, we will be open 9.30-12.30, 2-5pm on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 9.30-1pm on Saturday
- From Monday 19th July the limit on the number of customers in the building and the limit on the time that they can stay will be removed
- Hand sanitiser and Test and Trace measures will remain in place BUT will not be enforced
- Masks will be encouraged, BUT will not be enforced
- Covid secure layouts will remain in place
- Furniture that was removed will not be returned as of yet
We look forward to seeing you in the library as things start to return to some semblance of normality. At present there is no indication of when capacity events will be permitted to return but we will keep you up to date
