Mette Gauguin, Gauguin’s great grand-daughter, will be coming to talk to FOWL next June about her famous relative.
We are so lucky that Mette has agreed to come and talk to us, especially as it will be following the upcoming Gauguin Portraits exhibition at the National Gallery which runs from 7 October 2019 until 26 January 2020. Indeed, Mette featured in a film commissioned by the National Gallery and the BBC called Gauguin from the National Gallery, which looks at the artist’s life and is followed by an exclusive guided tour and discussion of the exhibition. Mette appears in a second film, “Gauguin – A Dangerous Life”, which was shown on BBC4 on Sunday 1st December and is available on BBC iPlayer.
We will of course be publishing further details on our own talk nearer the time.
